15th Gear: TV Guide, don’t be trollin’!

rex-with-gearmark12Hey, guys, guess what?  We might have some totally exciting news to report this time!  Thanks to comments from Pokevocaloid on my last post, we found out that Generator Rex MIGHT be coming back on air again in the United States with the episodes from season three that were never aired!

As soon as we got the message, we started cross checking stuff online to find out how legit this info is (not that we think anyone would lie to us here about it, but sometimes TV listings aren’t always correct and that’s a problem that Cartoon Network viewers have run into before, am I right?).  So here’s what we found…

14th Gear: Comics and DVD Give-Away!

rex-with-gearmark9Whoa, long time no post, huh?  Lo siento, mis amigos.  October into November was a super busy time for my staff,  the Project Lead, especially.  I didn’t catch much of a break, either, since Six finally made good on his threat to drag me out of town on a way-too-long trip that involved survival training.  No TV, no internet, no kitchen appliances to cook food with and no Chinese take-out or pizza delivery!  He wouldn’t even let me have my phone!  Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind spending time with Six so much anymore, but trying to survive in the wilderness on like…bark and bugs is the worst.  THE WORST.  People have called me an EVO garbage disposal before and I’ll be the last person to argue my own reputation, but even I have my limits and some standards with food.  If Six ever threatens to do that again, I swear I’m gonna run away to Hong Kong for a month.

Anyway, I’m not gonna waste you guys’ time anymore with my complaining about how awful field trips with Six are and just get right down to the point of this blog post…

13th Gear: The DC Nation Situation and RGR’s Mail Campaign!

Hey, amigos.  It’s been a while, but there’s been a ton of stuff going on over the last week.  In case anyone reading this hasn’t heard about it yet, two more shows have been yanked off the air by Cartoon Network – the DC Nation block of Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series.  Both shows were supposed to air with new episodes at their regularly scheduled times last Saturday the 13th, but 10 hours before air time, CN changed their schedule for the rest of October and replaced DC Nation with two other shows.  Then, right after that, it was announced through CN’s Twitter account that DC Nation was going on hiatus again until January.  To say the fans of those shows weren’t too happy about that would have been serious understatement.  Twitter and Tumblr pretty much exploded all over the place with the DC Nation, YJ and GLTAS tags.

To make matters worse, it seems like no one really knows why those two shows are off the air.  There are a lot of rumors circulating, that’s for sure.  One of them is that CN lost the rights to the Milestone guys.  Another is that CN’s got every intent to not air YJ and GLTAS again and bide their time until January when they can replace those two with new shows.  Are those rumors even true?  No one knows.  But whatever the reason, not even the people who worked on those shows know what happened.  They didn’t even know about the schedule change until some of their fans told them!

12th Gear: Toy Give-Away Winner and Twitter News!

¡Hola, amigos!  You guys are probably more than ready to find out who won the first ReGenRex give-away, huh?  We closed the entry form on Sunday and the Project Lead got the entries we received together, numbered them and then used an online random number generator to pick a winner.  …and who’d have thought, the lucky number in this case was 13!

Congrats to our winner, Ashley F.!  Keep an eye on your mail delivery, Ashley, because pretty soon you’ll have a Slam Cannon Rex, Battle Ram Cycle Rex, Van Krazy Kleiss and Biowulf action figures coming your way!  Thanks to everyone who submitted for the contest and keep in mind that we’ve still got more stuff to give away at some point, so keep an eye out for that information.

Now, how about some talk time about one of the social media platforms we’ve been using for RGR?  Twitter!

11th Gear: Intermission: Hermanos

So I’m doing something a little different this time for an update.  I figured since this is my blog, I should be able to do stuff with it that I want to do.  I mean, not like RGR stuff isn’t what I want to do, but you know…things that just strike me as interesting to type up that aren’t all campaign business.  (Insert joke here about “all work and no play make Rex, um…something”…yeah.)  A lot of people have been asking questions here and on tumblr about my brother, too, so I figured maybe it was time I made a post about him.  He’s not the easiest guy to understand, though I think maybe after everything that happened I’ve got him figured out a little more.  We really need to sit down and just talk sometime.  He also needs to leave his lab more often.

Tenth Gear: Time to give stuff away!

Whoo yeah!  It’s time to give away some Generator Rex merch!

Before we get to that, though, juuuuust a couple of reminders from your friendly neighborhood EVO blogger.  One, don’t want to forget about the whole reason we’re doing this!  If you haven’t sent a message to Cartoon Network yet through their feedback page about putting my show back on the air or making another series/season, please take a couple of minutes sometime soon to do that.  Or, if you’ve already done that or are just looking for another way to contact CN and you’ve got a Twitter account, you can always tweet your message!  You don’t need to tweet them ten times a day or anything like that, but once every four or five days or something like that couldn’t hurt!

Also, we now have a Fan Submission page set up!  The banners from our first “contest” have already been added (check out that slick slideshow feature, huh?) and it won’t be much longer until we’ve got a list of “burning questions” in there, too.

Alright, now onto the give-away!

Ninth Gear: Banner Issue and Upcoming Event

Hey, guys.  I totally meant to update sooner than this, like three or four days ago, actually, but me and my staff ran into a problem and we thought it might be better if we got that sorted out before my next post went up.  The whole thing’s been a little awkward and we were kinda back and forth on how to handle the situation, like if I should make a post about it or not.  In the end, we decided that me saying something about it might be the better idea.

So basically what happened was this…  Our Project Lead was cruising Deviant Art last week, looking for some Generator Rex fan art (preferably some of me!) to feature on our tumblr and Facebook pages.  As usual, she found some pretty great art and was trying to pick between a few different ones when she found an illustration that matched up to one of our winning banner designs.  Unfortunately, the artist who made the image was not the same person who made the banner.  People were contacted, questions were asked and in the end it turned out that the banner had been made with an image picked up through Google.  Problem is that our banner submission rules were that fan art couldn’t be used unless it was your own and the artist of this image in particular specifically asked that no one use his art without permission.  Because of that, we were forced to remove the banner from the site, which is a real bummer because I seriously did like that banner a lot!
